Kleiner Jaufen
Light forest, a valley basin, steep rock faces and finally extensive alpine pastures are the backdrop for this charming tour.
Start: Gasthaus Brückele parking lot. Before the bridge, a marked hiking trail (Almsträßchen) leads southwest into the valley. The path is flat for about one kilometer until the end of the valley. Straight ahead we see a moderately steep slope, which is usually used for downhill skiing. However, we keep to the left, cross the Kaserbach stream and follow the small alpine road. This runs up a pleasant gradient to the west into the valley floor of the "Kaserle". Here, too, the route is flat at first until we cross the wooded slope to the right / west at around 1950m.
At around 2070m we have to overcome a short steep step, then we are in the open terrain of the Rossalm. In a large bend to the right, we now head towards the Rossalm (2150m) and behind it through rugged terrain to the broad western slopes of the Kleiner Jaufen. Over these to the summit.
The descent essentially follows the ascent. The descent to the end of the valley is mostly via the slope.
